In the wake of hackers breaching the data of more than 5 million Ticketmaster customers, Ticketek Australia has issued a warning regarding a cyber attack impacting customer account details.

Days after hackers obtained the data of over 5 million Ticketmaster customers, Ticketek Australia has warned customers of a cyber attack affecting customers' account information.

“Since our third-party supplier brought this to our attention, over the past few days we have worked diligently to put every resource into completing an investigation so that we can communicate with customers who may have been impacted, and other stakeholders, as quickly as possible,” the ticket sales platform said in a statement.

Ticketek customers received a notification late Friday night alerting them to the cyber attack and warning them to “remain vigilant against the risk of phishing emails and scam” – further highlighting organisations purporting to be Ticketek as a concern in its statement. “We apologise for any concern that this news may cause – we will provide further updates as more information becomes available.”
