In an interview with Sky News, Professor Wang Yiwei denied Beijing was behind a cyber-attack on parliament and called the mistreatment of Uighur Muslims "fake news".
Professor Wang – an international relations professor based in Beijing who was sent to Australia by the Chinese Embassy – said it was in Australia’s best interest to assist in the de-escalation of tensions between the two world superpowers.
