Superintendent Brandy White says the school system noticed some suspicious activity on their system that they believe could have been an attempted hacking.HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. - Houston County Superintendent Brandy White reported suspicious activity on their system, leading him to believe they were the victims of a hacking attempt.
“We saw multiple logins at peculiar hours on certain computers that we knew were not our employees,” said Superintendent White. “They weren’t able to get completely into our network to shut things down, but again, based on what we’ve had happened in the past, we were taking this very serious,” said White.
“As far as our student information system, our financials, all those things are hosted off-site,” said White. “So, even if someone was able to get into our network, they wouldn’t see those things.”
